Nollywood actor Jim Iyke was badly hurt last Saturday the 4th of March 2012 at a location in Cameroon during a movie shoot, Nollywoodgossip is exclusively reporting.
We
learned that the incident happened when the handsome actor, who
commands immense fan base in the African country, was besieged by female
fans on the set of his new movie in Limbe.
According to the information reaching us, when fans learned that Jim
was on a set in their city, they trooped down to the location and in a
matter of minutes crowded him, pressing to touch their idol. The
situation almost got out of hand but was saved when security men jumped
in to save Jim from the hands of the eager fans. And in the process, the actor was injured.
When the news got to us, we spoke with Jim and below are what he told Delia Innoma (Live Online With Delia.)
“Yeah, it’s true. Fans kind of mobbed me in a club called Calypso when we were shooting yesterday night in Limbe, Cameroon. It got a little rowdy and a glass table with bottles of drinks next to me was broken.
“As the bouncers tried to pull me away, I slipped on the drinks on the floor and cut my two hands badly.
“I
need three stitches on each of my fingers on the right hand and one on
the left, because I lost a lot of blood bleeding profusely. The hospital
was far and took some time to locate.
“I’m fine now and recuperating, but the shooting had to be suspended for a few days until the stitches can be removed.”
TWIN TREND MAGAZINE wish him a quick recovery.
